We are excited to announce the winner of this year’s Stephen P. Jacobs Prize for Best Graduate Paper Presented at the LAGO Annual Conference: Talita Magnolo, of the Universidade Federal de Juiz de Fora in Brazil. Talita’s presentation was titled “A cobertura do III Festival de Música Popular Brasileira pela revista ‘Intervalo’: a ruptura musical e a liberdade de expressão.”
Her work was nominated by Professor Rebecca Atencio, who praised it as “excellent” and noted that it was “based on significant original research (oral histories of editors and writers of the Intervalo magazine).” Prof. Atencio went on to write that Talita’s work “was well-organized and written; she was a charismatic presenter and her paper stimulated a lively conversation during the Q&A.”
Thank you to Talita for sharing your wonderful project with us, and congratulations on this award.
